{"id":30882,"date":"2017-04-18T09:27:33","date_gmt":"2017-04-18T16:27:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rocketmath.com\/?p=30882"},"modified":"2019-05-08T11:50:37","modified_gmt":"2019-05-08T18:50:37","slug":"without-the-directions-you-may-get-lost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rocketmath.com\/stagingserver\/without-the-directions-you-may-get-lost\/","title":{"rendered":"Without the directions you may get lost!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>What happens when teachers don&#8217;t have a copy of the Rocket Math Teacher Directions? \u00a0Bad things! \u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When teachers don&#8217;t have the written directions to Rocket Math, the essence of the program usually gets lost. \u00a0Procedures get modified and modified over the years until they are not even close to what should be occurring. Sometimes we have found schools that are not even providing daily oral practice. \u00a0Other schools don&#8217;t give the answer keys to the peer tutors. \u00a0Other schools don&#8217;t give the writing speed test and make up impossible-to-reach goals for students. \u00a0We often see teachers implementing the &#8220;Rocket Math&#8221; program incorrectly and wondering why it doesn&#8217;t work. \u00a0We ask them if they have read the teacher directions, and they say they didn&#8217;t know there were any. \u00a0When teachers have never seen the directions, is it any wonder they don&#8217;t know what they are supposed to be doing? \u00a0Hear-say directions handed down over the years from one teacher to another just don&#8217;t convey all the important details. \u00a0Teachers need the directions!<\/p>\n<p>This is why I&#8217;d like you to have my complete directions for free. Even if you purchased Rocket Math ten years ago and haven&#8217;t gotten the updated versions since then, you can have these directions for free. \u00a0I have them in three places. \u00a0I have the directions broken out into <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rocketmath.com\/resources\/worksheet-program-use-faq\/\">FAQs on their own web page here<\/a><\/span><\/span>. \u00a0That&#8217;s easy for quick reference.<\/p>\n<p>The second place I\u00a0have the Teacher Directions is as a downloadable booklet you can print out and distribute. \u00a0The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rocketmath.com\/resources\/directions-for-products\/\">Rocket Math Teacher Directions for the worksheet program booklet is here<\/a><\/span><\/span>. \u00a0\u00a0Please print this out and give to your teachers,\u00a0especially in schools that began implementing several years back. \u00a0Read them and have a discussion at a professional development time. \u00a0You will be astounded at how much your implementation differs.<\/p>\n<p>The third place I have the Teacher Directions is in the &#8220;filing cabinet on the web&#8221; for those of you who have the subscription.
